Job Description
Position Summary:
The Credit Department of TBK Bank, SSB seeks a Senior Vice President, Credit whose responsibilities include: (i) managing one or more teams of analysts, ensuring efficient resource allocation, quality work product, and team development; (ii) support analyst teams’ underwriting of credit approval requests for both prospective and existing clients; (iii) working with lending units to ensure the ability to accurately evaluate and provide structural guidance on credit applications; (iv) managing teams completing ongoing monitoring of existing credits to assist TBK Bank in assessing the quality of the loan portfolio.
Position Description:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Own and develop bank resources and departmental training to maintain and improve core credit fundamentals and competencies in credit topics.
- Identify, improve and implement departmental processes and procedures.
- Work with analysts and loan officers to review incoming financial statements on existing customers, financial spreads, loan structure and facilitating the communication of any concerns with the lending and credit leadership.
- Facilitate the collaboration between underwriting and lending to ensure accuracy, structural soundness and timeliness of credit proposals.
- Ensure open communication and collaborative efforts exist between the lending teams and the credit staff by clearly communicating progress and/or needs in a timely and precise manner.
- Work collaboratively with loan officers on loan requests in order to facilitate the approval or declination of credit applications.
- Utilize signature approval authority under sound credit practices and in line with the strategic initiatives of the Bank.
- Ensure that all transactions either conform to the loan policy or ensure that all policy exceptions are disclosed in the credit proposal.
- Monitor existing credit relationships for adherence to loan covenants and/or utilize signature authority to address non-compliance or facilitate discussions with lending and credit leadership.
- Review and maintain ownership over team work quality, accuracy and production levels.
- Maintain an active role in ensuring departmental and team member engagement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required, with a major in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred
- Generally over 10 years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and/or credit risk management
- Generally over 5 years of team management experience
- Ability to independently underwrite large/complex credit transactions
- Demonstration of sound credit risk management practices
- Strong financial statement analysis, writing, and communication skills
