Job Description

Position Summary: The Programs Manager takes the lead role in the development and execution of Triumph Workshop’s programs to fulfill its mission of providing the tools, knowledge, and connections to foster a community of creation, innovation, and success. Triumph Workshop is a makerspace serving the community through programs focusing on workforce development, education initiatives, and entrepreneur support. The makerspace features a metalshop, a woodshop, an innovation lab, artisan areas, collaboration spaces, and a coworking loft. Trained instructors teach a variety of classes and memberships are available that allow adults access to the makerspace anytime, day or night.

Current programs support Triumph Workshop’s plan to:

  • Increase career exploration opportunities for K-12 students

  • Expand workforce development opportunities for adults

  • Provide greater access to maker-related education at Triumph Workshop

  • Improve Triumph Workshop’s membership experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Expand the K-12 Education Programs which includes the coordination of school field trips, Youth Maker Nights, and other events/camps.    Tasks to include planning on-site activities, recruiting instructors and guest speakers, leading tours for such events, and provide pictures/content for social media and email newsletter.

  • Expand Adult Education Offerings by partnering with staff and members to develop and build out ideas for new classes, projects, and events.

  • Create and coordinate the makerspace class calendar and other events to ensure adequate space is available. 

  • Work with staff and members to ensure tools and spaces are prepped and required supplies/consumables are on-hand for classes and project-related events.

  • Ensure classes and project-related events are properly staffed.

  • Work with Technology Coordinator to manage communication and follow-ups with attendees of classes and events.

  • Manage budget related to programs including tracking expenses and completing expense reports.

  • Evaluate programs and recommend/make changes for improvement.

  • Lead development of new programs to support Triumph Workshop’s strategic plan - set goals and objectives, establish budgets, timelines, and key performance indicators.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 3 - 5 years of proven success in managing projects and building programs with measurable results.

  • Extensive knowledge of and experience in one or more "maker" disciplines, i.e., electronics/coding, digital fabrication, woodworking, welding/metal fabrication, etc. is preferred.

  • Experience running non-profit programs a plus.

  • Team player that can thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment, without close supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage programs and/or projects.

  • Well-developed organizational skills.

  • Strong work ethic and personal integrity.

  • Self-driven to take initiative to accomplish goals with little to no direction.

  • Spanish fluency preferred .
