Lead Data Governance Architect
Job Description
Position Summary: We are a fast-growing FinTech company that is looking for a highly skilled Data Governance Lead to join our team. As part of our Data & Analytics team, you will be responsible for architecting and designing our organization's data governance framework. You will work closely with other teams within technology and business to ensure that we have a best in class foundation for a data driven future.
The Data Governance Lead should be a hands-on expert in designing, documenting and implementing the information governance for a data driven enterprise. This role requires strong interpersonal skills due to close interactions with business and technology stakeholders at all levels with varying technical backgrounds in a fast-paced work environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the creation, design and rollout of comprehensive information governance strategy for Triumph at the enterprise level
Work with stakeholders to establish a governance culture and framework
Define and document standards, policies and procedures related to data governance
Establish data ownership and stewardship guidelines
Build a best in class data quality framework to enhance and monetize data assets
Collaborate with engineering teams across the enterprise to help implement policies and procedures
Establish and lead cross-functional committee for data governance program management
Help evaluate and implement tools to automate governance tasks
Work closely with Information Info Sec, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Data and Engineering teams to assess risk, formulate standards and maintain compliance
Mentor and develop analysts and others as required
Experience & Education
The successful candidate possess subject matter expertise, technical experience and skills, leadership skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
8-10 years experience as a data governance lead or architect at mid to large sized enterprises
Expertise in all aspects of modern data governance principles
Experience automating data governance processes and workflows using market leading tools like Atlan, Alation, or Collibra
Good understanding of current privacy and compliance regulations like CCPA, GDPR, etc.
Good knowledge of information security principles and technologies
Expertise with data lake, data warehouses and cloud-based ecosystems like Snowflake
Experience with data cataloging, inventory metadata and classification techniques and artifacts
Familiarity with data quality principles
Experience working with various modern data tools like Matillion, DBT, Airflow, etc.
Data stewardship experience a plus
Knowledge of data engineering design concepts, ETL/ELT processes
Ability to produce dashboards using tools like PowerBI
Extensive experience with SQL and relational databases
Experience working within Agile software development methodology
Ability to generate and maintain technical documentation is required

High degree of personal integrity.

Must be able to receive and follow instructions given by management.
Must have the ability develop solutions to unique problems.

Must be physically capable to stoop, bend, lift up to 20 lbs to place technology supplies and computers and related equipment onto racks, desks, counters and into cabinets and onto storage shelves, etc.

Ability to work in a confined area.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Occasional stooping or kneeling may be necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
Specific vision abilities are required by this job due to computer work.
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
