THIS POSITION AND TEAM WILL WORK FROM HOME MOST DAYS, HOWEVER THIS PERSON WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO COME IN TO THE OFFICE ONE TO TWO DAYS A MONTH. WHICH IS WHY WE ARE TARGETTING CANDIDATES IN THE GREATER DALLAS, DENVER AND QUAD CITIES IA AREA. Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Instructional Designer III. The role is a senior-level position responsible for leading the design and development of advanced, innovative, and effective learning solutions across various formats, including e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning programs. This role requires extensive experience in instructional design, project management, and stakeholder collaboration. The Instructional Designer III will mentor junior instructional designers, provide strategic input on learning initiatives, and ensure that all learning solutions align with organizational goals and meet high standards of quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Design and Development:
Lead the design and development of complex learning solutions, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training, virtual training, and blended learning programs.
Apply advanced instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create engaging, interactive, and effective learning experiences.
Utilize multimedia and authoring tools to create high-quality learning materials that incorporate sound instructional design and creative elements.?
Project Management:
Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and alignment with business objectives.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including subject matter experts, developers, and other stakeholders, to deliver comprehensive learning solutions.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Learning, Engagement, and Performance, to ensure alignment and integration of learning initiatives with broader organizational strategies.
Actively participate in team meetings and collaborative planning sessions to contribute insights and support the achievement of team goals.
Foster a cooperative and collaborative work environment within the Learning, Engagement, and Performance team, ensuring a seamless approach to delivering learning solutions across the organization
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts to assess learning needs, identify gaps, and propose effective learning solutions.
Function as a key advisor on instructional design strategies and best practices, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and learner needs.
Facilitate feedback sessions and incorporate stakeholder input into the design and development process.
Mentorship and Leadership:
Mentor and coach junior instructional designers, providing guidance on instructional design techniques, project management, and professional development.
Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Provide constructive feedback and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Quality Assurance and Evaluation:
Establish and enforce quality standards for instructional design deliverables, ensuring consistency and excellence in all learning products.
Conduct evaluations of learning programs to assess their effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and instructional design methodologies, and incorporate new practices into the learning design process.
Perform other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.
Experience & Education
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of experience in instructional design, with a proven record of leading complex learning projects and delivering high-quality learning solutions.
Certification in instructional design or project management (e.g., CPLP, PMP) preferred.
High-level of proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), LMS platforms, multimedia production, and graphic design software.
Document design software such as MS Publisher, Adobe InDesign, or Illustrator preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Skills & Abilities Required
In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and best practices in learning and development.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of learning analytics and experience using data to drive decision-making in instructional design.
Strong critical thinking skills and an initiative-taking approach to challenges.
Open to receiving feedback.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work independently, as well as follow direction/instruction, as warranted.
Ability to work well in a team and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain flexibility in a changing environment.
Must be able to travel 5%
