Job Description
Position Summary: As an Enterprise Architect in the financial services sector, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and integration of complex enterprise systems, including both Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom-developed solutions. You will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to define architectural strategies, drive systems integration, and deliver enterprise-grade solutions aligned with business objectives.
This role requires a deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, financial industry requirements, and regulatory compliance standards. You will collaborate with executive leadership, business teams, and technology partners to deliver innovative, secure, and scalable solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of complex enterprise solutions within a financial services environment.
Serve as the subject matter expert for systems integration, including COTS, SaaS, and custom-built platforms.
Refine and help maintain enterprise architecture roadmaps and integration strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency.
Work with Chief Architect to establish and enforce architectural standards, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
In conjunction with Chief Architect, drive solution architecture and integration design to enable seamless data flow and interoperability between systems of responsibility.
Collaborate with business leaders to translate business objectives into technical requirements and scalable solutions.
Lead technical reviews and governance processes to ensure architectural consistency and compliance.
Partner with the Information Security team to design and implement secure, compliant solutions.
Develop automation strategies to enhance system monitoring, configuration management, and deployment processes.
Maintain architectural documentation, including detailed system diagrams and integration workflows.
Provide expert guidance on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and innovative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Minimum 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, or a similar role within a financial services or federally regulated industry.
Strong background in enterprise-grade solutions, including COTS, SaaS, and custom application development.
Experience in designing solutions for regulated industries (e.g., FDIC, SEC, PCI, SOX, or similar).
Proven track record of delivering complex systems integration projects within a multi-platform environment.
Strong understanding of modern integration patterns, including APIs, microservices, and message-based architectures.
Experience with cloud-based solutions (AWS, Azure, or similar) and hybrid environments.
Proficient in system performance monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with technical teams and business stakeholders alike.
Skills & Abilities Required
Expertise in systems integration, data flow, and interoperability.
Proficiency with integration platforms, middleware, and data management tools.
Deep understanding of architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
Strong knowledge of security and compliance standards in financial services.
Experience with automated infrastructure management and deployment tools.
Effective communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a financial institution or regulated industry.
Certification in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code.

Must be physically capable to stoop, bend, lift up to 20 lbs to place technology supplies and computers and related equipment onto racks, desks, counters and into cabinets and onto storage shelves, etc.

Ability to work in a confined area.
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Occasional stooping or kneeling may be necessary.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
Specific vision abilities are required by this job due to computer work.
Regular, predictable attendance is required.
